Why do cats are not good pets?

A pet's life is totally controlled by its master. The pet cannot decide when and what to eat, where to sleep, when and with whom to have sex, how to live. The master treats the pet - an adult, sane animal - as inferior and subordinate. Even with the best intentions, a master is still a master, controlling the pet absolutely, deciding everything, from food, housing, medication, to behaviour, frequently sterilizing the animal "for its own good" (and the humans' convenience) and more. Masters enjoy pets and fulfill their own sentimental needs and wishes, but do not take the pet's needs and wishes into account. Pet's can not "decide" to live with humans, because they cannot possibly understand the signification of this, nor are they given any choice.

Any person who truly respects animals ought not to have pets.

plus, depending on what animal you have, there could be hair everywhere.

and you have to clean it's cage, litter box, kennel,stall, or whatever it lives in if it has an accident, you have to clean it and make sure it doesn't leave a stain

Being a cat lover myself I am inclined to say that you have been misguided, cats can potentially make wonderful, loving family pets but like any animal it is up to the owner to keep their pet happy and family friendly. Here may be one reason cats have such a negative reputation; Cats, being naturally solitary animals, may exhibit territorial and anti-social behaviors if not properly socialized and handled from a young age. Owners who buy or adopt a cat expecting an animal with no social needs and who think cats don't need or want attention will end up with just that, an unfriendly, territorial, and likely aggressive feline. Cats being bad pets is simply a matter of the owner knowing what kind of commitment they're getting into.
