Why do fish lose their tail My neighbores fish was just fine but then one day it's tail just dissapeared why is that so she could not find it's tail anywhere in the bowl did it dissolve or what happen?

Assuming a tank mate did not nibble the tail off, bad water chemistry (ph too low, for example) can dissolve fins and tails. or if a tank mate didn't nibble it off it could just be of bad age or something like that
