Because YOU let it.
No, I don't. I put my underwear in a laundry hamper and he has chew a hole in the netting to get to my things. I've also put them in a clothes basket and put the basket on top of a chair , but he jumps onto the chair to get to the basket. He usually does this when I am out occasionally, he does it when I'm home and gets scolded for it. He has also chewed up my blue jeans.
they often will circle around too... its from before dogs had baskets, sleeping in grass for instance they would walk around in circles to flatten it to their body shapes.. scratching serves two purposes.. disturbs any potential perils in older times and makes the flattened area a bit more comfortable
I also a heavy chewer dog that chew many things in home even his bed then once a day I was searching about chew proof dog bed, I came across a website where I found many tough dog beds. After reading that amazing and helpful article I make a mind to buy one of that beds, Finally I bought a chew proof bed which gave a tough time to my dog and he can't be able to demolish it. My dog bed is also comfortable along with durability. Buying a chew proof dog bed is cost effective then buying a dog bed every week.
Your dog may be eating underwear because it is bored my dog went through a similar thing. Tell it off when it does it and get it some toys that you can show it is ok to chew. This worked for me because my dog needed something to entertain it when i wasnt around. Failing that putting some pepper powder on a pair of undies might also help deter it from trying it again. In the end your dog only wants to please you so if it is given a more acceptable chew toy it will probably use it.
The dogs chew up the carpet and are asked if it was delicious or not.
being friendly
Ideally they are taught when they are young and in a teething stage to utilize chew toys. Once they're adults, if they haven't already developed the habit they might not develop it. Try using chew toys that include a place to insert food, such as a kong. If your dog chews things he ought not chew, keep chew toys handy and when you catch him chewing a forbidden item, trade him an approved chew item for it.
The average dog needs to chew around 600 times a day. That would include all the food the dog eats and also what they are playing with - appropriate and inappropriate objects.
black labs like to chew up everything

If the dog is a puppy, he may be chewing up his toys because he is teething. Some dogs chew on things because they are stressed or worried just like people bite there finger nails.
