Hamsters will eat what ever you give it so if you give it a whole lot of food it will eat it all most likely.so if your hamster seems overweight try giving it a little less food or ask a local pet shop ( Petco,Pet Smart, etc.)
Hmmm, well I have a answer to that 1. Your hamster may be storing food somewhere you can't see and so well that is kind off bad because hoarding is the name of what your hamster may be doing what I did was I took the food bowl out for a hour and put it back it if this isn't your answer then 2. Gif your hamster looks normal say not it might weight less and your hamster might be eating more to gain weight and that's completely normal ( except for the underweight part, if your hamster looks underweight then you can use a food weighter to see how much it weighs ) well I hope this helps - darkskygamerr
I had this exact problem with my hamster, but mine was in a wire cage. Originally I took the wheel off at night time, so that it didn't wake me up, however after a time I realised this was pretty unfair on the hamster as hamsters are nocturnal, and so are most active at night. The hamster needs the exercise and so by taking the wheel of I was depriving it of that. In the end I decided to move the hamsters cage in the room next door and shut the door. It was much quieter, and didn't make much difference as I could always go next door to play with it. Its the best idea because then the hamster gets the exercise and you get the sleep. Everyone wins.
If your hamster keeps falling on to one side there could be a varitey of things wrong with her, right know my hamster is dying, she is losing massive amounts of blood from her bottom and can't stand up, the loss of blood id making her week and she also keeps falling on her side, but she is old, shes 2, another thing that could be wrong if she is a young hamster is that she cold have something broken in her, I suggest taking her to see a vet. Well best luck to you hamster, I hope it turns out better than mine.
Try not to wake your hamster up too much. You don't want it to be tired all of the time. If I tried to wake my hamster up, she would bite me, so I would get a treat for her (carrots, nuts, ect.) and put in front of her nose. Then she would be too busy happily eating to bite me!
You can put a hamster in the ball as much as you want. The average time you want your hamster in there for exercise is about 15 minutes, but my hamster loves it so much that he goes in for 30. It all depends on the type of hamsters and how athletic they are! hope this helps
Some hamsters may sleep on their backs, sides, or on their stomachs but hamsters do not sleep upside down, bats do! but not hamsters~KitcatMidgetI have a hamster (a teddy bear hamster) and sometimes she gets in her tube that comes from her petting zone down to the bottom floor where she can play. If my daughter messes with her while she's trying to sleep she will sleep upside down in her tube so she can't bother her lol Hope that's ok for her to do, she's only done it a few times
Normally, bedding. They can sleep on or in bedding. But they do like to burry so you could get it paper shreddings
NO hamsters are nocturnal so they sleep in the day and play in the night

enough so the hamster can hide under it.
there is no specific time.
Hamsters are natually nocturnal, so you should let it sleep during the day.
Yes. You should have it in the cage in addition to being in your bed while you sleep. ***** It is not a good idea to have a hamster in your bedroom: Hamsters are more active at night, so having the cage in your bedroom may mean a rather disturbed sleep (especially if it likes using a hamster wheel with a squeak!).
Yes
Hmm did train in to do that? Mines nocturnal so I don't know
When a hamster is ill you have to watch out for eating less and drinking less, too much sleep, being less active, sneezing, shaking, vommiting, and wet bottom.Hope this helps.:)
Take it to the vet ASAP. If these are the symptoms, that means your hamster is very close to dying. Your hamster is not sleeping. It is just waiting to die, so it closes it's eyes. Take it to the vet!
About as much as a hamster.
