I don't know how the eggs are moved. A mallard has been sitting on 13 eggs in my garden for the last three days. She laid them over a period of 2 weeks. It snowed last night & this morning the nest was empty. There was no evidnece that the nest has been raided; no shells; nothing. We hope she moved them but we don't know how, it just happened over night.

It has been over 40 days and the mom muscovy duck is still on her eggs. what should we do?

Check under her. If the eggs are obviously rotten, throw them out. She will eat them if you don't! Gross, I know, but the smell is horrible if you let her crack them open. Click on the link below for a muscovy site!

Can a Campbell duck and a muscovy duck cross breed?

A Campbell is a mallard derivative so yes it can cross with a muscovy. All wild mallards and domestic mallard derivatives can cross with any Muscovy Duck. However the offspring will be sterile (except extremely rare cases). Muscovy drake on mallard hen generates mullards which are fast-growing birds bred for meat. There are large industrial concerns that do this.

How many days will it take a mommy muscovy duck to hatch her eggs?

The hen's egg is fertilized in the formation process. They "save" the semen from roosters and their body's mechanisms deposit it into the yolk as it is created. If a rooster has mated with a hen anytime in the prior 7-10 days, the egg will be fertile as it is laid.

What is the best way to move wild duck eggs?

The best way to move wild duck eggs is to not move them at all, if possible. It is illegal in many places to disturb or move wild bird nests, including duck nests. It is best to leave the eggs where they are and let nature take its course. If you believe the nest is in a dangerous location, contact a local wildlife rehabilitation center for guidance.
