it is very uncommon that females fight, its mostly males that fight. if your female guinea pigs are fighting, separate them as they will fight until the other backes down or gets seriusly injerd. guinea pigs are herd animals which mean's they like the company. resons why your female guinea pigs might fight: 1) there finding the domanant female 2) the one female guinea pig is pregnent or has babys 3) one of the guinea pigs may be tretaning the other 4) one guinea pig may have never seen or met another guinea pig, so it could be scared 5) the guine pig is hurt and wants nothing to do with other guinea pigs 6) if the guinea pig is meen to you it is likely it wont like other guinea pigs 7)if the guinea pig is new and scared it may neglect or fight the other guinea pig 8) bad experiances with guinea pigs or animals 9) if there are already a pair of females and you put a third in, they may gang up on the other and seriusly hurt or kill it. hope i helped, thank you
It's generally recommended to adopt guinea pigs from a rescue or shelter rather than purchasing them from a breeder. This helps with animal overpopulation and gives a home to a guinea pig in need. Both boar (male) and sow (female) guinea pigs can make great pets, so choosing between them depends on your preference and compatibility with your existing pets. Be sure to provide proper care, such as a spacious cage, fresh vegetables, and companionship, for a happy and healthy guinea pig.
Yes! They are very friendly. but like all rodents they do bite if you put your finger in front of his mouth. It is because of this they are highly recommended for young children who want a pet.It depends on a guinea pigs attitude, Really. Mostly they are very friendly, but if you put two guinea pigs in one cage they do become aggresive. Try not to place two male guinea pigs in one cage.Personally I think guinea pigs are the friendliest pets ever!(once they get to know you.)
Female guinea pigs shred paper as part of their natural nesting behavior to create a cozy and secure spot for their babies or themselves. They may be preparing a nest for themselves or signaling that they are ready to give birth. It's a sign that they are comfortable and wanting to create a safe space.
If a female mounts a male or a female mounts a female or a male mounts a male, it's because the top rabbit is asserting his or her dominance. She is saying, "I'm on top, so I'm better than you." This can be frusturating if you are trying to get them to breed. My friend is having this same problem with her pair of Tans right now. A breeder recommended feeding them something (I think it was wheat germ or something like that) mixed with honey.
I think
Good grief, no. One is simply showing dominant behavior over the other one.
you mean girl guinea pig? Right?!? Because if not, at LEAST two weeks.
because she is pregnant
Maybe he's gay
Both males and female guinea pigs are great. It all really depends on the individuals personality, so if you want a friendly guinea pig, you should search for that and get a guinea pig that is friendly. But if you are getting 2 guinea pigs, you shouldn't really try to get 2 males as they (males) tend to fight. Usually a male and a female or two females will get along well. == == Hope I helped!

Its teeth might be to long and the result is pain as it eats
The guinea-pig that is "shivering" is just simply telling the other one to BACK OFF
they would only be mean if they were trained to do so
She is VERY fat. Female guinea pigs should weigh between 700 and 900 grams, and male guinea pigs should weigh between 900 and 1200 grams. Give your guinea pig more hay to eat, and less processed pellets/muesli. Let her run around for at least an hour everyday.
