Well it all depends on the person. i lost my favorite cat ever a fiew weeks ago and it was very hard and still is but I've had a cat my whole life and i missed having one. So my familly only waited a fiew weeks. If you have any big celebrations comming soon i would hold up on getting a pet because it will be very scary for them to come in to a new home and then having lots of people over will just make things worse. I think you should take your time you will know when your readdy for another pet
