Vikings drank out of skulls (not recently killed or extracted skulles, of course, but cleaned and carved-out skulls. They used wax to fillin the nose and eye and ear holes)

The Vikings navigated by depending on the instincts of birds. They took several ravens with them on board, and released them while sailing. Whichever direction the birds flew determined the way the Vikings would sail.

By the Middle Ages the Vikings had settled in Europe becoming part of the population and no longer raided places. Today there still are streets named using Viking names and places.
