From what I've seen Google will put the links as nofollow when you first join and submit article's to Knol. After a while you will gain trusted status and those links will then be normal "do"followed links to your site.
It seems that if you follow Google guidlines then they will eventually count the link as a link back to your site, as long as they deem the article to be of sufficient quality
There is nothing called as DOFOLLOW. There's a term NOFOLLOW which alerts the search engines like Google that they should not follow those links. DOFOLLOW does not exist practically, but in theory it's the opposite of NOFOLLOW and helps search engines in identifying helpful links.
No, Google Knol was discontinued in 2012.
Some external links on this website are 'dofollow' and other external links are not. It depends on the quality of the link and the quality of the contributor adding the link. Initially, external links new to this website are NOT dofollow. In time, they may (or may not) be promoted to dofollow..
Google knol beta is already released. www.knol.google.com . Enjoy
All blogs were originally dofollow. That means that when Google scans your page, it would scan all the outgoing links and "follow" that link and give it credit as a reputable website. Spammers took advantage of this and started leaving spam comments using bots to make there spam websites seems creditable. Because of this, Google wants everybody to have there blog set to "nofollow" which means that when Google scans your blog, they will not follow any of the links in the blog comments. People who leave REAL comments on blogs get pissed because Google does not follow there links and give them credit. So some brave bloggers change there blogs to "Dofollow" so they will get more blog comments from people who want a more credible backlink to there site.
Dofollow is basically a term made for webmasters which instructs the search engines that the links are worthy and they must follow it and also rank them better. All links are dofollow unless you add a rel="nofollow" tag to them.
Search in Google for - "dofollow blog comments list" "YOUR NICHE" [with the quotes and after replacing YOUR NICHE with your blog niche. You can find some ready-made lists below.
