They are very active and hyper. I have 2 Maltese and my 1year old is more calm than my puppy. He lays wherever I am and he listens very well. My puppy is a little more playful but she is calm for the most part. Having a Maltese was the best decision I have made. They are wonderful pets.

∙ 12y agoWell Maltese are said to be lapdogs but i own one right now and he is very energetic and he thinks he is bigger than any other dog plus they love the attention but trust me not all dogs are the same when you get a Maltese sure it might be lazy and would love to take naps but chances are you might even get a Maltese who loves to run all over your house non top just one thing you shouold keep in mind always remember that a pet is a huge resposibility and it will nto turn out to be as easy as it seems because they might be domesticated animals bhut they still have the unpridictable personality of what they will like to do and some might not be the same size as the rest but it will be an honor and joy to have a companion such as a Maltese
