Cause you blew the fuse, The switch may not be off but there is a break somewhere in you circuit and will not work. If your circuit isn't working and all the switches are closed (on) You probably have a series circuit. meaning one wire is connecting all your electric currents and keeping it flowing. But if you had a parallel circuit you would have lights, so if your still wondering why your lights aren't on? you probably need to by new wires/circuits or just replace the whole thing.

Wired incorrectly is most likely the cause.

However, if it happens just some times, then this could have something to do with the light bulbs. As filaments inside bulbs get worn by many hours of use, they may eventually fall off their supporting stand. In worst case, this filament may shortcut the leads into the bulb and a fuse may blow as a result.

Most light bulbs these days have got internal fuses to compensate for this problem.

If this is not the cause, then I would go through the light armature and check for errors. There might be some springy bits of metal that are bendt too much one way or another, causing a shortcut rather than a proper connection to a bulb.

Be sure you know what you are doing. Remember. High voltage may be lethal if worst came to worst. If you are unsure of what you are doing, then let a professional deal with it.

Can you terminate a 110 circuit and a 220 circuit in one box?

No, do not put terminate 2 different voltages in one box.

How do you wire flood lights to existing lights?

You would need to check for other lights on the same circuit or switch, but it would seem to me that you have power coming into the box (black and white) and a power out going to another box or light. You would use wire nuts to connect the black and white wires from your floodlight to the existing ones.

Will lights short circuit with too many watts?

the slightly higher wattage shouldnt short your lights. the room will just pull a little more power from your fuse box so keep an eye on that and use 60 watt bulbs next time.

Can you splice a switch from a switch for a different light?

Answer for USA, Canada and countries running a 60 Hz supply service. You can if the "hot" wire comes from the distribution panel or from an unswitched source directly to the switch box. The switch box has to be a two gang box to hold both switches. The "hot" wire is pigtailed to two six inch pieces of wire. These two feeds are then connected to the top terminal of the switches. The switches are now in parallel with a common feed. The bottom terminals of the switches are then connected to the appropriate lighting loads. As always, if you are in doubt about what to do, the best advice anyone should give you is to call a licensed electrician to advise what work is needed. Before you do any work yourself,on electrical circuits, equipment or appliances, always use a test meter to ensure the circuit is, in fact, de-energized.IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY SURE YOU CAN DO THIS JOBSAFELY AND COMPETENTLYREFER THIS WORK TO QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS.

How do you fix a blown fuse?

You can easily replace it but you need to know why it blew in the first place. All fuses are marked on the fuse box or in the drivers manual as to which circuit they protect. Determine which circuit that blown fuse protects and inspect that circuit for troubles.

What is a one gang switch what is a single phase circuit?

A one gang switch is like an ordinary switch box in your home. When there is more than one box, the electrical terminology used is ganging the boxes together. Two switches side by side in a single box is expressed as a two gang box. Three switches side by side in a single box is a three gang box. A single phase circuit is a circuit that gets is supply voltage from a single phase supply system. In North America the single phase supply voltages are 120/240 volts. A single phase circuit can also be supplied from any two legs of a three phase system. The most common voltages in North America from a three phase system are 120/208 volts.
