If you first obtain a green card/American citizenship, then yes. Otherwise no. Canada has the best trained soldiers in the world, quantity is lower so they go for quality everytime. I remember finding out that ever soldier in the Canadian Army has the equivalent training as 7+ of our guys, because they had less men to do the same job, they all needed to be proficient in as many skills as possible. First time meeting Canadians for this souther boy, and it impressed the hell out of me.

A person who was born in another country, but is now a Canadian CITIZEN, can apply to join the Canadian Forces.
As long as you are a Canadian citizen, the forces aren't racist. Anyone can join as long as they are ready for it :)

Unless you're a dual citizen you don't have a choice - you need to be a citizen of the country to serve in its military. The above is actually only true in regards to the Canadian Forces - they require you to be a Canadian citizen. You can join the US military as a foreign citizen, provided you've established permanent residence in the US, and have declared an intent to become a US citizen.
