No. The Lutheran church believes that Holy Communion is Christ's body and blood by Real Presence. RP is usually described as "in, with, and under". To overly simplify it: we're not sure how it works, but we're taking it on faith. Roman Catholics believe that the wafer/ unleavened bread miraculously becomes- physically and figuratively- the body and blood of Christ. This is a fundamental difference of philosophy, so they would probably not let you.

Of course, this depends on the church itself. They would probably quote 2 Timothy (I think) and the curse that befalls anyone who takes Communion/ Eucharist in an unholy fashion.

hope i helped.

REVISED**The verse is 1 Corinthians 11:27 that states that communion should not be done in an unholy fashion

No because the Roman Catholic's and the Lutheran churches (1- are very different 2- do not agree with each other in just about everything) they will most likely not allow a Roman Catholic to receive communion in a Lutheran church (that is unless you convert)

Roman Catholic AnswerFor a Roman Catholic, Holy Communion is the reception of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, Himself. He cannot receive Communion in a Lutheran Church as what they call "Communion" is not actually the Body and Blood of Christ, they do not have a valid priesthood and are unable to confect the Eucharist. And even if they did, they don't believe in it. Secondly, to participate in a Lutheran communion service is to make a proclamation that you believe as they do, and thus you are committing a sin by a formal public act of apostasy from the Catholic Church.

Roman Catholic AnswerNo, you can not. As in, it is not physically possible. The Lutherans themselves do not believe in Holy Communion, they believe in something called consubstantiation. Furthermore, they do not have a valid priesthood, so even if they did believe in transubstantiation, they are unable to confect the Eucharist. Finally, particpating in a protestant service in a substantial manner is formally renouncing your belief in Christ and His Church, and committing apostasy, which is a very serious sin.

No, as per Catholic regulations, because Lutherans are not a church in union with Rome. They are a Protestant denomination and not Catholic.

Can anyone take communion in the Lutheran church?

It depends on the church. Some you can; others (like Missouri or Wisconsin Synod), you must be a member.

Why are nonmembers not allowed to take communion in a Lutheran church?

Excluding nonmembers from communion is not a policy of the Lutheran church as a whole. Rather, it may be the policy of a specific church or of a particular denomination. Unlike Catholicism, the Lutheran church does not have one central body. Instead, it is composed of a number of different divisions. In the US, there are three primary groups: the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) Lutheran Church-- Missouri Synod (LCMS or just Missouri Synod), and Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS or Wisconsin Synod). Each group has its own policy on communion. Missouri and Wisconsin Synods both practice closed communion; only members can take communion. The ELCA, however, practices open communion, where anyone can. Of course, individual churches may choose to follow a different procedure from that of the denomination to which they belong, so it is possible for an ELCA church to have closed communion.

What is the difference between a Methodist church and a Baptist church?

Methodist churches are part of the Methodist denomination, which emphasizes structured worship, sacraments, and a connectional system with appointed ministers. Should a Catholic take Communion at a Lutheran Mass?

No, to receive communion in a Lutheran church would constitute an acceptance of the Lutheran theology and one can not be both Lutheran and Catholic.AnswerActually, Lutheran churches offer an "open table" to all believers in Jesus Christ. It does not constitute an acceptance of the denomination, rather a belief in Christianity. I do not believe that this is a hard and fast rule any longer for Catholics, but every man has to go with his conscience.

What is the difference between Lutheran and christian reformed?

Well, Lutheranism is based off the same background as Christian Reformed, but is a bit different. Lutheranism is not as based off of Faith as much as Christian Reformed. Although Faith is in the Lutheran Religion, childhood education on the subject plays a big role. For example, being Confirmed in a Lutheran Church is needed to take communion. Whereas, in a Christian Reformed Church the choice to take communion is given to you, providing the trust that you are a born again Christian, and have accepted Christ into your life. Other differences in the Churches include small variations in the service. These include the way the Pastor is dressed, the traditional music played in a Lutheran Church is guided by the hymnals, therefore singing Hymns, and the choic on the communion. In a Christian Reformed Church, worship music is played, the Pastor is dressed formally, and the communion is solely based off of faith and belief.

Why do baptist have communion on first Sunday?

The baptist church take communion or they call it the "Lord's Supper" in following Jesus' commandment to do it in remembrance of Him. Baptists do not take communion every meeting of the congregation and do not hold any salvation in it but only as a remembrance that without Jesus' shedding of his blood then we miss the nourishment of the spirit and communion with the saints of the Lord. There are some that believe that EVERY time we put anything in our mouths we should remember the Lord and give thanks for His sacrifice, therefore the blessing before each meal.
