it depends on if the Brown Eyes (brown eyes is a Dominate Trait) is homozygous (pure) or heterozygous (hybrid [two different alleles]) brown. If the mom is homozygous, then there is no chance, all will be hybrid brown eyed. If the mom is hybrid, then there is a 1/4 chance.

I'm 100% Chinese (traced back to 15th century), my husband is 100% Caucasian (traced back to Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland). Our daughter was born with blue-gray eyes- and they still haven't changed one bit. She is now 4 months old... don't know if they will change, but for now, they haven't!

Yes, if both parents carry the gene for blue eyes, the child could have blue eyes. This is because blue eyes is a recessive trait and brown eyes are dominant.

Yes. The mother could be heterozygous for eye color, and she then passed the recessive allele to her baby.

Why would the baby not look exactly the same as the mother?

because half the baby's genes come from the father.

Do a baby have the same genes as his or her mother and father?

yes the baby will have same genes like parents ....since the baby is developed from the zygote(2n)......and the zygote is diploid ........it formed by the union of father and mother haploid gamates (n).......except in some abnormalities.......

What blood type a baby will be if father is o and mother is a?

The genotype of the father is certainly OO (because blood type O is recessive). The genotype of the mother however can be AO or AA (both give blood type A). The baby will have a combination of the genes from the mother and the father (one of each) and so: - If the genotype of the mother is AA and the genotype of the father is OO, the baby will certainly have AO as genotype and has therefore blood type A. -If the genotype of the mother is AO and the genotype of the father is OO, the baby can have AO or OO as genotype. AO results in blood type A and OO in blood type O (50% chance).

How do genetics make a baby?

Genetics do not make a baby, they determine whether the baby will be more like the father or mother. Genetics can help determine traits like a baby having hair or eye colour like the mother.

How are you related to your baby's sister's mother's husband?

In most cases, your sister's mother is also your mother, and her husband is your father. If you and your baby sister have the same father but different mothers, your sister's mother's father is your father. If you and you sister have the same mother but different fathers, your baby sister's father is your step-father if he is married to your mother.

Can a white mother and a mixed father have a white baby?

Yes it is possible. The caucasian mother will have two genes that restrict melanin production in the skin and the mixed father will have one gene that restricts melanin production. Since the baby will get one copy of the gene from each parent, the mother will obviously pass on the gene that restricts melanin production. The father will either pass on the restricting gene or the non-restricting gene. If the father also passes on a copy of the restricting gene then the baby will be caucasian. If the father does not pass on the restricting gene, the baby will have a darker skin color.
