When filling in a K-1 petition for alien fance(e), you must provide an affidavit of support. If your US fiance has patchy employment history, that shouldn't be a problem. HOWEVER if they currently have little or no income, in fact an income that is not 125% of the poverty level (that's the short explaination..it also depends on if they have other dependents, investments, property etc), then you may have problems.
If they know a US citizen (for example their family member) who will be willing to help support you, and who has sufficient funds, then the family member can provide an affidavit of support too, and as long as the requirements are met, it shouldn't be a problem.
