Copyrights are rarely bought and sold; the majority of agreements involve licenses, usually non-exclusive, which would mean the creator would be able to derive an income from the work.
For example, say you've taken a photo that becomes very popular. If you sell the copyright to someone, say, Getty, that's it: you have no control over it anymore. But if you license it to others instead, you still have control. You can prevent it from being used in advertisements for products you don't support, you can charge a school a dollar to use it and charge Coca-Cola a thousand dollars. Ten thousand. You can let people put it on t-shirts but not tote bags, or vice versa. Thirty years from now, when it suddenly becomes cool again, you can still derive income from licenses.
You can't. It is a right that the writer owns. You can offer to buy the copyright.
Generally you would want to license the copyright, rather than buy it outright. To do this, you simply ask the copyright holder for permission, usually in writing.
no .
Bear in mind that generally copyright is automatic as soon as an original work is completed. If you want the additional protection of formal copyright registration you will need to contact the copyright/intellectual property office in your country. If you want to use a photograph that is not in the public domain, and you do not own the copyright yourself, you must obtain the permission of the copyright holder. You do not need to buy the copyright itself. More often, you will simply obtain a license to use the copyright for your purpose, usually requiring payment of a royalty to the copyright owner. Some copyright owners have licensed their photos under licenses such as some of those of Creative Commons, which may enable people to use the photo without payment. If the photograph is in the public domain, you may use the photo freely. A photo may be in the public domain for many reasons, such as expiration of a copyright or intentional release of copyright.
Any copy of an original product without the express permission of the copyright owner is copyright theft. So no its not legal to do so.
