No. The PS3 can only have a wired connection with an ethernet cable. The only other connection that is possible is WiFi. The PS3 can only connect to the internet with WiFi or ethernet cable no other type connection is possible. You can not use the HDMI or USB port to connect the PS3 to the internet. I do not believe a router can be connected to the internet cable without a modem or that you can have cable internet without a modem

USB stands for Universal Serial Bus... If you meant to ask if you can use your USB port to somehow connect to the internet, then yes. You can get a USB wireless (Wifi) adapter if you have a wireless network (or wireless router, connect to a high-speed internet connection like Cable, DSL, etc...) You have to have a router to connect more than 1 item with Comcast Internet unless you also got the wireless router from Comcast. You can either go out and purchase a router either wireless, both, or Ethernet. I purchased a wireless router and then decided I liked the wired system better and purchased an Ethernet cable to hook up the PlayStation 3 because I saw that the router also had 4 Ethernet plugs in back. So you still need to purchase a router even though you have Internet access with Comcast.

Phone Lines were only used to connect to the internet with 56k modem. Most people nowadays have DSL or Cable which uses the Ethernet Port on your computer.

if ur using a Ethernet cable connect to ur laptop or desktop and enable local area connection but u still have to be connected to the wifi then u try it a couple of times and it should work
