On my '87 Toyota van the resivor just slides off when you pull directly up on it... though im not sure if this is factory standard or a modification made by a previous(and possibly frustrated)owner of my van.
Remove the wiring harness from the back of your 1989 Toyota alternator. Remove the alternator retaining bolts. Remove the alternator belt. Reverse the process to install the new alternator.

this could be multiple reasons, however 2003 and 2004 sorento are prone to a coolant reservoir failure. This typically begins on the bottom side of the reservoir. Change it or else!
To change coolant on a Toyota Corolla, place a bucket under the radiator. Open the radiator drain valve and remove the radiator cap. When all antifreeze drains out, close the drain valve. Then refill with fresh antifreeze and replace the radiator cap.

The reservoir automatically replenishes oil in the oil pan if it is burned away. It was made for the consumer who doesn't change oil regularly.
Drain the coolant, remove the alternator and the etc. sensor hose from the reservoir. Remove the housing and replace the thermostat.
yes -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You can in an emergency , but it's best to use a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and preferably distilled water to provide freeze , boil , and corrosion protection for the engine cooling system . The corrosion protection " portion " of the antifreeze does " wear out " so change the antifreeze mixture as recommended ( Ford says to not exceed 60 % antifreeze in the mixture )
There isn't an alternator fuse. The alternator is the power source - it's not fed from another power source. That wire which goes to the positive terminal of the battery is there to transfer electrical power to the battery, not from it.
Locate the radiator and the coolant reservoir box. Remove the lid of the coolant reservoir. Then remove the drain plug from the bottom of the radiator. When the fluid has leaked out, put the plug in place. Pour in a mixture of distilled water and antifreeze into the reservoir, according to your needs or the specifications. Run the engine for three minutes, then check the coolant level and add more if needed. Be careful not to remove the hose from the reservoir as the plastic nipple it is fastened to will easily break if too much force is used.
