Answer 1: Yes. But make sure that if you do sign up for an online school that it is creditable and does not give fake diplomas. How reliable is the diploma, I mean if you take the diploma will people hire you or will Universities and colleges still accept your diploma? yes

Answer 2: Answer 1 is quite confusing. Let me see if I can clear things up.

The simple answer is "yes," you can get your high school diploma entirely online. However, there's a caveat; and that caveat, simply, is that you must make sure that the online high school is "regionally" accredited...

...meaning accredited by one of the United States's six big "regional" accreditors that are approved by the US Department of Education (USDE).

It matters, not, whether the high school diploma is earned in a traditional classroom, or online, as long as the high school -- whichever kind it is -- is "regionally" accredited. Period. It's as simple as that.

As long as the online high school is "regionally" accredited (and you must independently verify that; never take the high school's word for it, because the "diploma mills" will lie), then its diploma is exactly the same, and may be used for the exact same purposes as any local, community, city or county public school system in-classroom high school's diploma.

The trick, simply, is to ensure that the high school -- no matter what kind it is -- is "regionally" accredited.

That's the long and short of it.

Answer 1: Can i get a online high school diploma online that also includes my work experience too.

Answer 2: The first answer is just another question. Perhaps it's by the original questioner; and perhaps, then, what s/he's asking is whether or not it's possible to get credit for one's work experience applied toward one's high school diploma.

If so, then the answer is, "no." Sorry. That can work in college (though be careful, because promising that one may get an entire college degree from work and/or life experience is the game that degree mills play), but not in high school.

Regarding getting a high school diploma online, though...

The absolutely most important thing to remember is that whatever high school you choose -- be it of the "online" type, or the "in-classroom" type -- it must be accredited by one of the US's six big "regional" accreditors approved by the US Department of Education (USDE). Seriously, nothing else will do.

Oh, sure, there's such a thing as USDE-approved "national" accreditation; and don't get me wrong: that's good accreditation. However, there's a decided pro-"regional" and anti-"national" accreditation bias among employers, colleges/universities, the military, etc., when it comes to high school diplomas.

"National" accreditation may be valuable, alongside "regional" accreditation, at the college/university level; but when it comes to a high school diploma, only one that came from a "regionally" accredited high school will do. Settle for nothing less! Don't believe anything to the contrary that anyone tells you.

Once you understand all that I've just written, and you buy-in to it, and operate accordingly, you cannot make a mistake in selecting an online high school...

...er... well... other than with respect to price, that is. Some online high schools are unbelievably expensive. It's ridiculous! Shame on them.

Most, though, gratefully, are reasonably priced. Some are even free if you meet certain conditions.

Find virtually any "regionally" accredited online high school that's reasonably priced, and you cannot go wrong.

There's a very bright (and nice... I've communicated with him) fellow out there named Tom Nixon who has written the two definitive books on getting an online high school education; and he has also built an excellent companion website where he provides a comprehensive list of the best online high schools out there. I've put a link to it in the "sources and related links" section of this web page, below.

However, please be warned that Tom includes, on his list, a few online high school programs that are excellent in terms of quality, but which may not necessarily be directly "regionally" accredited. Some of them are somehow approved by "regionally" accredited high schools or colleges, but that's not the same. The high school and its program, itself, must be "regionally" accredited. So, then, even if you use Tom's list, double-check any school you select and verify, independently, that it's "regionally" accredited.

And by "independently," I simply mean to never trust what any online high school claims on its website. The diploma mills will all lie, so until you know, for sure that any school isn't a diploma mill, you can't trust a thing it puts on its website.

So, always figure out in which US state the online high school is physically located; then figure out which of the six big "regional" accreditors covers that state; then go to said "regional" accreditors' website and look-up the online high school in question and verify that it's really "regionally" accredited. Once you do, then, at that point, you really can believe everything on its website. But not until!

Please verify the accreditation of any online high school... even the ones listed on Tom Nixon's website. Don't get me wrong, he'd never mislead you. The problem is that he's not quite as rigid as am I when it comes to insisting that one should never enroll in any online high school which is not, itself, directly "regionally" accredited. Period. So, always, always, always verify!!!

Please see the "sources and related links" section, below, for a link to Tom Nixon's best online high schools website. You'll definitely be able to find something there (and, no, I have nothing to do with his site; I just know of it, and that it's good, and so I routinely recommend it).

There are several ways to accomplish this, specially if you surf through the web. There is an online school, John Adams Virtual School, this particular one offers you a High school diploma, not a GED if you pass their equivalency test or if you course the traditional 9 to 12 grades. It says the only restriction is that you need to be 16 years old to be able to take this exam or course.
