how big is the turtle if its a baby take it back to were ever you got it it might have selaminella( if that's how you spell it )if they wont take it back then try getting a 10 gallon a 5 gallon will work but its to small. what kind of turtle is it? average turtles grow a little more then 12 inches and that's just the shell if its a red eared slider you will need a pond my advice is take it to your local pet store ask a associate if you can leave it there (petco has adoptions) obviously you don't know what your doing so you shouldn't keep it and next time do research before you get a pet
You can try to. Though I am not too sure because on the net they say for a normal turtle you should keep 40 gallons. So why not check with the trainer or vet or you know.... someone
Quite often, as a 5 gallon tank will only suffice for the first few months of a hatchling turtle's life.
A 5 inch sized turtle is too big for a gallon sized tank. They need more room to swim and the filtration needs more water than that for a turtle that size. I have a 5 inch male red eared slider in a 29 gallon aquarium and I consider that to be the smallest tank I would recommend.
A common good rule of thumb for figuring out how much water a turtle needs is to measure its shell from head to tail. A turtle needs five gallons of water for every inch long that it is. So only a hatch-ling can be kept in a 5 gallon tank.
Personally, I wouldn't keep anything in a 1.5 gallon tank. Not even a single Betta. I consider 5 gallons to be a minimum for a single betta.
Only one, and sometimes a ten gallon tank isn't enough room. The tank should be 4-5 times the turtle length wise and 3-4 times the turtle in width. If you have more then one, each turtle should get that amount of space. The water should be 1.5 times deep for instance a 7 inch turtle would have water 10 inches deep.
The only fish you can keep in a 5 gallon tank is one betta (Siamese fighting fish) on it's own as that is a very small tank.
you can put a betta in a 5 gallon tank
If the tank is large enough. For rearing young Oscars a 50 gallon tank is about right for 5 fish.
No! The tank needs to be much much bigger, at least a twenty gallon. By the way, box turtles also require both land and water. I would also suggest not keeping them together, as the turtle may or may not try to eat the beta fish.
you can put a betta in a 54 gallon tank
get a 1 or 5 gallon water jugs and fill it up keep track and that's how i did it with my 30 gallon
You can fit a 5 gallon fish tank on a school going desk.
