YES

If you wish do use the digital audio output from a device such as a CD or DVD player, and run it through an outboard digital to analogue converter(DAC), or an inbuilt DAC in an AV amp, any single RCA cable will do the job. Hi-fi dealers claim that a digital RCA cables are special items and will try to sell you a fancy, braided cable with gold plated connecters and even some are claimed to be "directional" . I've done some comparative listening tests with one of these and a nomal, average priced RCA cable and there was no audible difference, even on a high quality stereo system.

Which is better optical cable or HDMI?

HDMI is a pure digital signal for video AND audio. It's the best you can get. Component is the next best option for video, but most upscaling DVD players and the like can only send a 1080p signal via HDMI. If you're asking about coaxial as in the coax cable that supplies your cable feed to your tv or cable box then there is no comparison, literally. It's two different things. The cable signal will be decoded in the cable box then sent to the tv via whatever format you're using. If your talking about running the coax straight from the wall to your tv then you will NOT get an HD signal. You will have to have an HD cable box then run HDMI or component out to the tv from there. If you're talking about digital Coaxial cable, that is used for audio only. You have three options here. If you run everything through an HDMI switching receiver then that's all you need. If you're going straight to your tv and using built-in TV speakers then HDMI is all you need. If you're running your video to the TV with HDMI, but audio through a receiver then you can use either digital coax or toslink connections for digital audio. Toslink (fiber optic) is supposed to be the best for audio, but I've used digital coax and don't notice much of a difference. On a side note, if your tv accepts DVI, then you should know that DVI is essentially the same as HDMI except without the audio. DVI is digital video only.

Can a coax cable work for cable TV but not a modem?

Actually, a coaxial cable is used for both modems and TV's.

What is coaxial Qr?

Coaxial Qr is a coax cable that has been developed to met the demands of broadband or internet. At the moment it is considered to be the best of all the coax cables out there as it is very flexible and reliable.

Where to get a tv cable?

You can get coaxial (coax) or HDMI cord online or at best buy or target.

How do you make a homemade coax cable from a RCA cable Or any from any cable?

Simple cables for component video, composite video, analog audio and coaxial digial audio can be made with shielded cable and RCA connectors. Solder the inner connector to the middle pin and the sheild to the outer surround. Note that you will need different wire for the component video and digital audio. DVI, S-Video, HDMI and DisplayPort connectors are too complicated for the average user to make at home, and are best left to robots.

What are the uses of coax cable in the world of technology?

Coaxial cable, or coax, is an electrical cable with an inner conductor surrounded by a flexible, tubular insulating layer, surrounded by a tubular conducting shield. The term coaxial comes from the inner conductor and the outer shield sharing the same geometric axis. Coaxial cable was invented by English engineer and mathematician Oliver Heaviside, who patented the design in 1880.[1]

What are strengths of coax cable?

Coaxial cable is the best/lowest cost way to move a RF signal from point A to point B.

How do you test a coax cable for 18 GHz?

Purchase a "Coaxial Fluke Tester" It will tell you the length frequency and even if there is a problem with the cable.

What is the practical use of baseband coaxial cable?

Iam pretty sure that baseband coax was 50 ohm and was used for networking computer, were broadband coax is 75 ohm and used in the cable tv industry.

What is single cable that carries all audio and video information from devices connected to a tv to the tv itself?

COAX CABLE. It might be made of copper or a mix of other metals.tip: If you want to revise the question or comment on an answer, don't erase the answer and post the clarification in the answer section. You look like you're talking to yourself. You can use a coaxial cable to run both a video and audio signal together. You will need a RF modulator to create the signal from the video and audio feeds, and then you can run a single RG6 cable to the TV.

Technical term for the kind of cable that carries a tv signal?

There are two types of cable used for television radio frequency signals: 300 ohm twin lead flat cable and 75 ohm coaxial cable. The twin lead is typically used with a rabbit ears antenna and coaxial is typically used with roof top antenna or cable TV setups. For television baseband video signals coaxial cables are usually used. However for digital television baseband video signals these are not adequate and special cables (e.g. HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort) are used. These cables are typically many twisted pairs in a common shield.answer is Coaxial cable
