The first thing to look at for all electrical problems on a car is the battery. Take it to a car parts store and they will check it for you. If the battery is good, it could be the jumper cables are corroded. The next item to check is the starter.
Not sure if its the starter or the battery? Check the battery at a store. They can do a check on it for free. If its good then the starter could be bad. Bad starters don't work or they work intermittently. Usually just ehear a click and then when you retry it starts. That's the symptoms. Most places can also check the starter for you.
You need to replace the starter solenoid .
Double check the battery cables at the battery and at the engine, be sure they are clean and tight.
Loose or corroded battery terminals? Bad starter solenoid? Bad starter?
If there is a single click from the starter area, the starter is bad. If not, it could be an ignition switch.
my guess. alternator possibly? but if you know that's good check your wires going to your starter. that's the most common thing ive ever seen is not properly installed starters. but yeah check your wires going to it.,
solenoids are what clicks, yes it will click if the battery is low.
check your starter solenoid...it's probably bad....most cars you can change the solenoid or replace the whole starter ============ Probably, you need 1. Check and dress the contacts of wires, particularly ground. Use a knife and sand abrasive paper >200 grit for that. 2. Open the starter relay and dress the end face of the rod. I myself, 8/28/09
could be a dead cell in the battery, a loose ground or hot wire on the starter, or the starter could be bad.
you may hear a click you may but check the connections on the battery and on the starter make sure the power wire and the ground are connected well if they are and still nothing then your starter may be bad but have it tested at your local parts store
if i turn the key and all i hear is click- click- click real fast, is that mean i need a new starter?
your battery is dead or the starter solenoid
