Because Boudicca and the Romans had a difference of opinion. Her husband was a client king of Rome and living under Roman law. When he died he willed half of his kingdom to Nero, the Caesar at the time, and the other half to his wife. However because of Roman law a woman could not inherit,(except for a small restricted amount) from any husband or male relative. When Boudicca went to try and claim her inheritance, it was denied, she got nasty and so did the Romans. They flogged her and raped her two daughters.

∙ 12y agoTake it in America Kinney and lossy loved the Romans but there bans cthinthua and grace told them get in that kitchen and clean the dishes this mde them upset ovcouse my nan wouldn't say that nor would yours I think personally that Romans should grow there beards longer and plat them more it looks very nice and there helmets ..... The Romans had a professional army, while Boudicca had a band of warriors who were followed by the women ,children and the elderly.

Boudicca's warriors successfully defeated the Roman Ninth Legion and destroyed the capital of Roman Britain, then at Colchester. They went on to detroy London and Verulamium (St Albans). Thousands were killed. Finally, Boudicca was defeated by a Roman army led by Paulinus. Many Britons were killed and Boudicca is thought to have poisoned herself to avoid capture. The site of the battle, and of Boudicca's death, are unknown.
