A Pandit, and their caste is Brahmin.
Wrong - a pundit is any person who has knowledge of a particular subject regardless of caste. The word Pundit is so widely used in western culture that it is now defined in English/American dictionary. I see this word pundit being used daily referring to experts and not brahims.

Sikhs do not have priests. Guru Nanak Dev Ji believed that the Brahmins of Hindu temples had descended into ego, false rituals and materialism. Therefore Sikhs do not give religious authority to anyone but the Immortal Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
"Granthi" are people specifically learned in how to read Guru Granth Sahib, but no Sikh is given the status of "priest".
The Hindu preist dresses the Murti (the statue of the God/Goddess) and gets the Mandir (Temple) and shrine ready for worship. He then performs the Arti ceremony, which is where the priest faces each God/Goddess in turn. He rings a bell with one hand and at the same time he makes circles with an Arti lamp with his other hand. The Arti lamp is a special oil lamp with several flames. Hope this is helpful for you. Hinduist priests work hard with other priests in their religion. They study and pray, and are most likely together many times a day. Besides that, they would work in temples, talking to The Greater One and explaining to others who want to follow the religion. Life is not easy for them, as it shouldn't be for any others. But in ways, life has its simplicities for these priests. Some think it's due to what is alike in Hinduism and Christianity, which I am a part of. They have many things in common. They both believe in one god, which I and my family simply call God, and also, we all study the teachings of our religions and pray. We go to what is like a temple or church. Honestly, I am a simple girl researching on the topic. As I listen along to the drums, flutes, and whatever other instruments are being played on this site, I can imagine what a Hindu priest must have as a life in the casual! -A Thinker
I would have imagined that the occupation of a Hindu priest is as a Hindu priest, unless he is part time, in which case the jobs may be anything from school caretaker/grounds keeper to a football manager, depending on the specific part-time Hindu priest. He may, in fact, hold more jobs, but I'd say that it's quite abnormal enough that he would hold more than one.
