Do Italians like Mexicans?

Well, doesn't have to be Italians anyone from different ethnic grouops can like someone from another ethnic group if they find them attarctive.. Italins tend to be or stick with European to keep their beliefs in religion. Most Italians will marry other Italians. But in my opinion not very many Italins like Mexicans/ Hispanics. To me, Hispanics have a really bad attitude problem and hard to understand.. Italins usually like upper class people with a good education... I'm speaking from my Sicilian roots...

If Malaysian are Malays how about Indonesian?

I already see a problem, with this question that starts with the title. Not all Malaysians, are ethnic Malays. Although yes, ethnic Malays do form a 60% majority of Malaysia's population. The other 40% of Malaysia's population are ethnic Indians, Han Chinese and some indegenous groups. Malaysia's population isn't really that diverse. Indonesia on the other hand, is one of Southeast Asia's most diverse countries. You are to understand that, "Indonesian" is not an ethnicity but rather a nationality. There are MANY ethnic groups in Indonesia. And guess what? Malays are one of them. Indonesians are also ethnic Malays, but not all Indonesians are Malays. Sure, there are a lot of Malays in Indonesia and most of Indonesian culture is based off of Malay culture. But ethnic Malays are only about 10-30% of Indonesia's population. They mostly live in Borneo, Sulawesi (formerly "Celebes"), Sumatra's western coasts and they form a minority population in Java. So if, only 30% of Indonesians are ethnic Malays at the most; then what are the ethnic groups that make up Indonesia? Most of Indonesia's population are Javanese, and they make up about 50-60% of Indonesia's population. Javanese people are not Malays, although they closely related to ethnic Malays. Javanese people also have their own language, the Javanese language along with Indonesian; the national language of Indonesia. Malays and Javanese do look a like, because they share the Austronesian origin.

What factors make up an ethnic group?

An ethnic group is one sharing cultural characteristics or of specified origin. (From Greek Ethnos, people, nation) Edit: What ethnic groups all have in common is that they are made of a group of people who identify themselves as a distinct group from other ethnic groups. They appropriate and distinguish themselves according to similar biological traits, cultural characteristics, religious & moral ideas and customs (also can be non-religious or non-moral), behavioral traits, and language. An ethnic group is just one form of a social bond, and is exemplary of how human beings find closure and security in similarity. But really, all an ethnic group really is, is a group of people coming together, and defining themselves as "different" or alike through perceived sentiments that inform them as being the "same" or inherently tied to one another. So to answer your question in brief, what are the common factors: - An appropriation and identification of traits + ideas (and acceptance of those) - Recognition of other groups as different and distinct - A loose or strong solidarity between members - A self-reflection of the group as either part or distinct from culture and the world - Ethos (look up word)

What are the characteristics of an ethnic group?

Ethnic groups are formed because of the what makes people think they are the same either it been race or religion. Previous backgrounds of a person usually plays a very important role in distinguishing me from you type of thing. e.g. If a person was brought up in a poor family, they will find it much easier to talk to someone who has been in the same situation before. Beliefs and Religion also play a significant role.
