Yes, they do make honey but it is not the one that gets sold in supermarkets. Bees make honey to feed themselves, but this may be stolen by animals such as bears.

They only make enough for their own immediate need so there isn't enough to make it worth trying to collect.

Bumblebees (Bombidae) leave their nest in the autumn, and the fertilized queens hibernate in some protected place during the winter. In the spring each queen builds a nest of moss or grass, preferably in a deserted rodent nest. From scales secreted by abdominal glands, she makes a honeypot of wax and then makes a cell and half fills it with pollen before depositing her eggs in it. The queen covers the eggs with a layer of wax and sits on them like a brooding hen, sipping honey from her pot. After the larvae hatch, they eat the pollen and grow, then spin cocoons in which to pupate. When the workers emerge, they cut away the upper half of the cells, and the remainder is used as a receptacle for nectar.

Hope this helped!:)

No, all bees do not make honey. The following species (among others) do not make honey:

eastern carpenter bee

alfalfa leafcutter bee

orchard mason bee

hornfaced bee

These are are solitary bees, that don't live in hives. They also don't make beeswax.

No, there are not.

The bumble bee and the honey bee are two separate species.

Bumble bees are rounded and hairy. Their colour ranges between different shades of black and yellow stripes. Their large size makes them less productive than honey bees.

Honey bees are slim and wasp-like. They have stripes of varying yellow and black shades, but they also have grey stripes along their abdomen. Because they are slim, they are faster and therefore better honey collectors than bumble bees.
