Suffering from a condition in the thyroid (the hair becomes dry and it leads to breakage), Allergies to eye makeup or more specifically to mascara or eye infections can cause falling lashes. But they fall out naturally too and they grow after a couple of months. Just keep an eye out for excessive and unnatural eyelash loss. You can prevent it by taking off makeup regularly and when you do don't rub hard but gently remove and also not using fake eyelashes or lash curlers helps a lot. Hope i could help :)
