Aside from the fact that Mormons shop at Walgreens, no.

Contrary to popular belief, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) is NOT connected to a large number of multi-national corporations. (actually, it's not connected to any...) Their only corporate connections are with a few companies in the western United States. These are:

Deseret Book (a religious book and gift store)

Bonneville International (a newsmedia outlet)

Temple Square Hospitality (cafes and reception centers in Salt Lake City)

Deseret Management (manages a handful of apartments and office buildings in Salt Lake City)

Beneficial Life Insurance

No. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) does not and has never owned Walgreens.

The only businesses owned by the Church are:

Deseret Book, a religious book and gift store

Deseret Media Company, which operates a newspaper (Deseret News), a newsradio station (AM 1160/102.7 FM), and a television station (KSL-5, local NBC affiliate) in the Salt Lake City area.

Temple Square Hospitality, a collection of restaurants and reception centers near Church Headquarters in Salt Lake City.

No. Walgreen's is a publicly traded company which is owned by stockholders. Some of those stockholders could be Mormon, but the company itself is not owned, operated, or founded by Mormons or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church).

The only for-profit retail store owned and operated by the Mormon Church is Deseret Book, which is a religious book store specializing in Mormon literature. They also operate a non-profit thrift store, Deseret Industries.

No. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) has absolutely nothing to do with Safeway or any other grocery store. The church owns and operates only one commercial retail outlet - a book store called Deseret Book. The Church also operates a nonprofit thrift store called Deseret Industries.

No. Safeway is a publically traded company - meaning it is owned by shareholders. Some of the individual shareholders may be Mormons, but the majority is certainly not. Safeway was not founded by Mormons, nor is it affiliated with the Mormon church in any way.

No. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) has never owned or operated a grocery chain. The closest thing to a grocery store that is operated by the Church is called the 'Bishops Storehouse', it is a mix between afood pantry anda grocery store. The items at the Bishop's Storehouseare only distributed to those in need who have been referred by a Mormon Bishop.

While the church doesn't own a grocery chain, this doesn't mean that members of the church haven't or can't own a grocery chain. However, this does not equate to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints owning a grocery chain.

An example of a member of the church owning a grocery chain is the food chain Smith's which started in Brigham City, Utah and was owned by Lorenzo J. Smith and by his Son Dee Smith, who was a great nephew of Joseph Smith Jr.

No. Walgreens is a publically traded company owned by shareholders. Individual members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) may be shareholders if they wish, but the Church itself has nothing to do with Walgreens.

The founder of Walgreens, Charles Rudolph Walgreen, was a Methodist.
