For the 2.7l engine, the thermostat housing is all one piece. The housing is located under the alternator and attached to the engine block.
take off the air manifold, and under it is a big black box (thermostat housing), take off thermostat housing gasket (smaller black piece on top of housing and thermostat is inside it.
The thermostat on a 6 liter 2003 Chevy express is located on the left side of the water pump. The thermostat is a one piece unit attached to the thermostat housing, which is then mounted to the upper left side of the water pump. The average cost for this one piece thermostat/housing is around $25.00.
On the drivers side below the alternator at the end of the coolant hose thermostat and housing are one piece.
The thermostat for a 1997 Chrysler Concord is located on the top front part of the engine. Follopw the big radiator hose to the top of the engine, where it connects to the thermostat housing. It has two bols that are easily accessible from the top. Remove the two bolts pull up on the thermostat housing. Take out the old thermostat and replace with a new one. Also, replace the gasket as well. Something else that may be helpful I found when changing my thermostat. Check to see if the thermostat housing has a bleeder valve on it. This is a just a small piece that can be turned with a wrench. If the engine is cool, you can attatch a small tube to the bleeder valve and open it to drain off any coolant that may still be in your upper radiator house and will prevent you from having any coolant in the house splashing out all over your engine when you remove the thermostat housing later. Just make sure to tighten the valve again before topping off the coolant after changing the thermostat.
The Haynes manual I have says the thermostat housing is located between the lower radiator hose and the block on the left front side of the engine. The thermostat and housing are all one piece. The lower radiator hose (return) connects to the thermostat housing. follow the out hose for the rad until it enter the block it shouldn't be hard to find.
follow your top radiator hose to the engine block. the hose will be attached to the thermostat housing. the housing is attached to the block with two bolts. remove the radiator hose from the housing, remove the two bolts, and gently separate the housing from the block. you will see the thermostat. The above answer is for a V6 engine. If your engine is a V8, follow the lower radiator hose toward the engine. The thermostat, housing & o-ring are one piece.
On the drivers' side, back of the battery and look down. Two piece housing.
Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine. The housing that it connects to on the engine houses the thermostat. Remove the hose and the housing and it's a piece of cake from there. Don't forget to replace the gasket!
There is no repair that will work for this part, replacement advised.
It is located on the front of the enging at the top inside of the thermostat housing. This is the piece that the upper radiator hose (the large hose coming off the top passenger side of the radiator) and a heater hose comes out of. there is also a plug on the right side of the thermostat housing. I believe it is two 13mm bolts. You will need a gasket along with the new thermostat.
To replace the thermostat on a 1998 Cadillac, locate the area you will be working in. The thermostat is located at the rear of the engine on the drivers side. Then locate the upper hose. Remove the upper hose from the housing and disconnect the unit. You can then safely replace the thermostat piece.
It's been a while since i had mine off, but basically you need to drain the cooling system, remove the battery and panels etc, you need to remove the wiper arms and the whole wiper system tray, which looks scary but unbolts and lifts off in one piece. The thermostate housing is situated at the back right hand side off the engine, it's held in place by three bolts, and you need to disconnect a couple off pipes. You feel like you need to stand on your head to get to it, quite aukward. The thermostat is not removable from the housing, you have to buy the housing, and mine cost me £140 from Chrysler, plus £8 for the gasket. Beware i originally got a thermostat from a pattern supplyer, only to find when i had the car in bit's that it was wrong, and no one else but Chrysler seems to sell it.
