A car that has a alarm will usually have a red light on the instrument panel that when you lock the car with the key fob will come on and stay on for a few seconds. After the alarm is set the light will begin to flash. To test the alarm roll down the drivers window and close all the doors and trunk and on some cars even the hood has to be closed. Lock the doors with your key fob and when the red light starts to blink unlock the door manually by reaching inside to unlock it and open the door from the outside. The alarm should sound. To turn off the alarm use the key fob to unlock the doors.
The alarm
Could be alarm...
Yes, the blinking securtity light will blink when the car is off.
you might have a car alarm and not know it, if you do disconnect it if that isn't it then you have a short some were in your car most likely in a positive wire
Not enough information regarding why the car won't start but as to he security light; it's always blinking when the engine is off.
If the check engine light is blinking that means an engine cylinder misfire has been detected
I own a 1987 300zx. You should be able to shut off the alarm by inserting and turning your key into the driver's door or into the hatch. Its normal for your security light to blink for 30 seconds because that means its arming itself after you've locked the car. But after 30 seconds it should go off. If the light still blinks after locking the car or while even driving the car, something could be wrong. Do you have your car's manual?, I don't have mine, but you should be able to find something in the manual about the security light not going off. Keep in mind that the alarm should not come on unless, the alarm has been armed and someone tries to open anything from the inside of the car; car door, hatch, hood, and i think the gas tank door. I hope this was helpful. Also, if the light keeps blinking, you could always remove the fuse that is connected to the security.
Usually inside the car somewhere on the dashboard or the doors there will be a red flashing light to indicate that the car alarm is working properly. The light is also there to warn off burglars.
Your car alarm light go off, if someone tries to siphon gas out of the gas tank, depending upon the type of car alarm you have. Some car alarms go off whenever the car is touched.
If you turn on your 1999 mustang v6 car and the right signal light stays on and doesn't blink and you switch the car off and then the left signal light stays on without blinking, then you need to see a mechanic.
I know in my car manual it says when light blinking you need to have air bags checked by mechanic.
It is blinking by a lamp first turning on, then turning off, then turning on, then turning off...
