Born Gay or Chosen?
To answer this question, I'll need to split it into two parts. Firstly, male sexuality is not a choice whatsoever. However, female sexuality is able to change. Women have talked about how they can change their sexuality but guys cannot choose.
Now, are we born gay? Recent studies have shown that homosexuality is caused by three main factors together. Genetics, hormones and environment all play a key role in deciding whether you're gay or straight. How they affect you is very complex and not fully understood at the moment.
Answer:
Becoming gay is due to multiple factors that affect lifestyle and orientation. Almost 90% of gay people would say that being homosexual is inborn. It is not a choice to make along the way, but rather a status that came along with birth (genetics).
On the other hand, straight people would say that being gay is brought about by bad experiences (mostly sexual experiences with the same sex in the past) and environment. This argument is deemed to be weaker since if it holds true, it would only mean that SEXUAL PREFERENCE is something that can be changed in a snap of a finger. Sexual preference is not a behavior nor a character. It is the way how our brain is aligned with what we are.
This question has different answers from different types of people. We can only provide theories and assumptions, but never a factual conclusion. If Einstein can make an equation on how a person becomes gay, then that would answer it all.
There is some evidence that there may be a genetic element to homosexuality, but there is a great deal of evidence to suggest that our sexual orientation isn't "fixed" until about age 6.
It's also important to note that the vast majority of human beings are capable of sex with both men and women -- although obviously most human beings are primarily heterosexual. (According to Kinsey, about 30% of males have at least one homosexual experience to orgasm.) So to some extent, it depends on what you mean by "gay."
Finally, in all my years I have never met a gay man who "became" gay. At some point, we realized that we were gay, and that there was "evidence" going way back into our youth. Our sexual orientation was just waiting to emerge.
Although it hasn't been proven it is said that being gay can be a genetic thing.
There is no scientific evidence that someone is born gay. It is a choice.
