Did Charles Manson family know who lived at 10050 Cielo Drive before they killed them?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Manson had been to the house on Cielo Dr. months before the murders looking for record producer Terry Melcher. In fact Melcher did live there at one time and he owned the home which he rented to director Roman Polanski and his wife Sharon Tate. Manson was furious after Melcher took a pass on Manson's music. So the murders on that August night in 1969 were not entirely random.

The next night Manson ordered the killing of Leno and Rosemary LaBiana, their killings only slightly more random than the Tate murders. Manson had been to a house in the neighborhood of the LaBianca's so he was familiar with the area.

Did the Charles Manson family girls get released from prison?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

They have not. Susan Atkins died of brain cancer in September 2009, barely a month after addressing the parole board to ask for a release due to her terminal illness. She was turned down and died an inmate. Patricia Krenwinkle and Leslie Van Houten are still in prison, having been denied parole many times in their 40 plus years as convicted killers. Van Houten is married and both her and Krenwinkle work inside the prison in programs that help others.

Are there any pictures of Charles Manson's children?

Go to Google, punch in 'children of manson' and hit "images". There are several good links with photos. One man was adopted, found his birth mother and heard the story of orgy, rape, and a biological father named Charles Manson. Sometimes its better not to know.

Is Charles Manson classified as a serial killer or a spree killer?

User Avatar

Asked by Rumba

Manson is unique in the world of serial murder. He actually has more in common with other cult leaders than serial killers. There are several factors that are very clear though, he falls into the organized classification. He planned, plotted, and prepared his 'family members' from start to finish.

How much is Charles Manson paid per year?

Manson doesn't get paid anything. It is illegal for him to make any kind of profit from his crimes. I doubt he even has a prison job. He is kept in solitary confinement for his own protection.

How many Manson family members were convicted of murder?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

There were around 30 young children that lived within the 'family'. Not all of them were born into the 'family'. Some came with their mothers, Manson's followers, and some were born into the family, though I doubt that the mothers ever knew who the fathers were.

It was Manson Family policy that everyone had sex with everyone else, and frequently, so I doubt they were much concerned with paternity. As to how many were actually Charles Manson's may never be known. Those children are now middle-aged, some may not even know of their strange time in the family. It may be a good thing if they don't remember.

Was Charles Manson bipolar?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

"Mr. and Mrs. America--you are wrong. I am not the King of the Jews nor am I a hippie cult leader. I am what you have made me and the mad dog devil killer fiend leper is a reflection of your society. . .Whatever the outcome of this madness that you call a fair trial or Christian justice, you can know this: In my mind's eye my thoughts light fires in your cities."

--Charles Manson's statement after his conviction--

for the Tate-LaBianca murders.

He was emotionaly unstable.

Manson seems to be that rare individual that can be a serial killer and suffer from some sort of dementia. I think APD is appropiate for a diagnosis. But he has so many different going on it might be hard to pinpoint.

Who killed Sharon tate?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The Charles Manson gang. it is interesting- as it befuddled the police- only ONE of the Five Manson murders on the Cielo drive site ( unlike the related LaBianca grocery murders- which did involve gunshots) involved a firearm, an unusual nine-shot revolver by Harrington and Richardson. The morbid jokesters referred to Manson"s Full House- Three Jacks ( male victims) and Two Queens ( Sharon Tate and Abigail Folger).

Can you write to Charles Manson?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

MANSON'S ADDRESS:

Charles Manson, B-33920

4A 3R 14L

P. O. Box 3476

Corcoran, CA 93212

Charlie gets a ton of mail and can only answer a small fraction of it so don't feel bad if you don't get a letter in response to what you write. Send some good energy out to Charlie! The people who run the prisons are jealous of the positive support which Manson gets from his friends and will do anything to discourage it, and in doing so, try to make Manson feel like he has no friends.

When you write to Manson....

DO: Be yourself; don't say things because you think it's what Manson wants to hear. If you can, send him postage paid envelopes (printed, not holographic). Include your return address within the letter itself.

DON'T: Do not send books, magazines, stamps, cash, posters, polaroid photos. Also, don't send clothing, cassette tapes, CDs, pens or pencils. If in doubt, don't send it - he probably won't get it.

This "do's & don't" list is NOT complete or definitive.

The prison is playing all sorts of games with Manson's mail. For more information, call the Corcoran Prison Mail Room at 209-992-8800 x7759.

What are the names of the Manson family members who are in jail for the Tate-LaBianca murders?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Susan Atkins, (died of brain cancer in 2009), Patricia Krenwinkle, Leslie Van Houten, Charles 'Tex' Watson and of course Charles Manson.

*Bobby Beausoleil was arrested prior to the above family members for the murder of music teacher Gary Hinman. Hinman's murder preceeded the Tate-LaBianca killings by several weeks and was initially not associated with other Manson family murders.

All of the above mentioned Manson family members have requested parole numerous times and all attempts have been refused by the California Parole Board.

How was Charles Manson arrested?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

As a matter of fact, Manson was already in jail when Susan Atkins confessed to her cellmates the Family's role in the Tate-La Bianca murders. Charlie was locked up in Independence* for unrelated charges. It was just a matter bringing him back to Los Angeles where he was formally charged with seven counts of first degree murder.

*Independence is in Inyo county, northeast of LA.

How many times has Charles Manson been denied parole?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

At last count 12. There have been several where he has not showed up. One time he refused to go unless he could go without handcuffs. That was nixed by guards so he refused to go. I doubt it would have made any difference, his chances of walking again as a free man are zip.

Who was charged with Charles Manson?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Although Manson was not present he was still guilty of ordering the murders of actress Sharon Tate and her friends. Charles 'Tex' Watson, Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkle and Linda Kasabian* went to Tate's rented house, killing all but the grounds keeper who lived in the guest cottage.

*Kasabian was the only on that didn't commit murder, in fact was only included because she was the only Family member that carried a valid driver's licence. At the trial Kasabian testified against the others and was granted immunity.

What is the difference of life imprisonment and a death sentence?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It seems to me that you must know what the difference is, and what you are really asking is, does life imprisonment really offer any advantage over being put to death? Is there any reason to live if you will never get out of prison? That is largely a matter of personal judgment. I am sure that there are many people spending their lives in prison who really have no good reason to be alive and who are accomplishing nothing with their lives. However that is not true of everyone. Some people write books, even important books, while in prison. Charles Manson has actually released a record album from jail. And of course, not everyone sentenced to life in prison will actually remain in prison for their whole lives. Some people are paroled or pardoned.

Prisoners can also perform acts of kindness or acts of education for other prisoners, if they are not in solitary confinement. Creative people find something good to do, in almost any circumstance. Less creative people don't.
