If you relate the word "Attractive" to science and the animal kingdom, you discover a lot. With most animals, an organism will try to choose the healthiest mate they can find. If you try to picture what you think is attractive, you would probably find that it is the same concept. For men and women, that might be healthy weight, tall, average sized facial features, clean hair and clear skin. For men, muscles and for women, large breasts. If you factor all of these together, it actually the picture of health. Of course, nowadays, we have created artificial beauty like makeup, high heels, and plastic surgery. Also, humans have evolved in a way that lets us choose our partners based off of personality and such, so if you think that looks are the only thing in important in dating, that could be a sign that you are evolving backwards.
In other words, attractive is code for healthy, but looks shouldn't be the most important thing.

You can get a manicure and pedicure.
You can sit up straight keep good posture and smile more.
