A bench saw is a small table saw or a band saw set on a bench. Small table saws are used on more intricate cuts on wood as they provide more control. Band saws can cut thicker pieces of wood into the desired shape.
A saw is used for cutting a piece of wood in half.
From easiest to hardest: With a saber saw. With a band saw. With a coping saw. With steaming and then bending a thin piece of wood. With cutting close kerfs in wood, and them bending it mechanically. With careful hand carving.
All saws are designed with a specific purpose in mind. The wood saw was designed for the sole purpose of cutting wood and not to be used for any thing else.
Tenon Saw : Used to cut metal tubes, rods and metal sheets. Hacksaw: Used for cutting straight lines in wood. Crosscut Saw: Used to cut wood purposly at 90 digrees to the wood grain. Coping Saw: Used for cutting a range of woods. Usefull for cutting shapes and curves. Keyhole Saw: Used for cutting small holes in wood.
