I bought a 500 GB Seagate external hard drive, and I was going to FAT32 format it so It could be used with a PS3. Unfortunately, I deleted the entire partition off of it, and now it no longer is recognized as a mass storage device. It will come up as "Portable" under my devices and printers, but I don't know how it can be changed back to it's original state, so I could still use it. Any help?!
if the Hard Drive Has Failed you cant but you can use an undeleter to un delete stuffs
Microsoft, depending on the system, offers many types of back up software. I know for my computer I got a restore disk that had all programs my computer originally came with. You can back up many files to discs or even on the computer, such as restore. Extra hard drives are also available for purchase.
Yes, you can install multiple hard drives in your computer. If you have multiple internal bays then you can install drives inside the case. If not, you can buy external Firewire and USB drives that attach to the ports on the back of your computer. If you are unfamiliar with opening your computer, then choosing an external solution is the easiest and beth method.
If you have "make a restore point" on then no problem. Just reboot, boot in restore mode and choose restore point to load. If you don't have the disk and you don't have a saved copy of the CD on your hard drives there is no way to that. If your version is legal you can claim to the manufacture to send you the disk.
You can usually perform a factory reset by pressing F8 to get to the restore menu on the computer. This will restore the computer back to factory.
Turn off System Restore, reboot the computer, turn System Restore back on.
There are several major hard drive companies that produce hard drives to back up answers. These include Fujitsu, who mainly produce hard drives for the server market, and Seagate, who produce a wide range of high end hard drives.
hot swappable hard drives are drives that can be taken out and replaced while the computer is running. mainly found on servers and network attached storaged devices. All external usb/firewire drives are hot swappable in that you can unplug an external and plug in another external without a problem. This term could also refer to an external hard drive that has hot-swappable drives. For example, you can pull the hard drives out of the external replace them on the fly.
External hard drives can use data from an internal hard drive as often as you'd like. To do this, you must have backup software installed on each drive that will allow you to back up the drive when necessary, even if you are not in front of your computer.
Hard drives are made separate from a computer. They can be removed and replaced. There are two types of hard drives, those that have crashed and those that have not yet crashed. Keep your drive backed up so that when you need your hard drives changed your data will be saved. There is usually a simple way to get your hard drive out and a new one installed. Restoring files on a hard drive can always be done as long as the hard drive itself isn't irrepairably damaged physically. If you are able to replace that hard drive with the hard drive in another computer and boot it up, you should be able to roll back the hard drive to a different restore point where everything was accessable.
