This is a question that is rarely answered. I tried to figure it out myself, and finally I found out. Unfortunately, I only know for Macs. So, go to Finder and press Edit; then press Special Characters. Go to the Miscellaneous section and you will find a peace sign. Here is an example: ✇ If this is not the peace sign you were looking for, sorry. But for those who don't have a Mac, if you want to make a heart just press alt & 3 at the same time. And if Mac users want to make a heart, it's all in the Miscellaneous section! Hope I answered your question(s)!

the peace sign was made by a famous british artist named Gerald Holtom. Gerald Holtom made it with a D and an N. hope this answerd your question! from, the hippie of the neiborhood:)
No. It is based on the semaphore letters for N and D, for Nuclear Disarmament. Only fearmongerers think it's an anti-Christian symbol. ******************************************************************* uhmm.. that's not completely true. someone had "created" the peace sign by combining the N and D but the peace sign was used before the person "created" it. the peace sign was used as "an anti-Christian symbol by the Saracens as early as 711 A.D." here's the link to where I learned this and where you can get more info: http://www.teachpeace.com/peacesymbolhistory.htm
To make the plural hand sign in American Sign Language (ASL), extend your fingers and thumb, and hold them together. Then move your hand slightly away, making a small separation between the fingers and thumb to indicate plurality. This sign is often used when referring to more than one person or thing.
One possible answer: D, F, and A make a Dm (D minor) chord in root position.
here it is :D enjoy (ಠ ›ಠ)
A broken cross by one of the Egyptian leaders in bibical times. Yea I know you thought it stood for peace but its oka just turn to Jesus. I believe the above answer to be wrong... God gave us "free will" I think it is a choice, I like the peace sign because I think it stands for anti war and peace, guess I'm a hippie, but it is what I think. With so many opinions about the peace sign, it is better to make one of your own. both are wrong...... The peace sign is a symbol that combines the Semaphore flag signaling system signs for the letters N and D, which were chosen to signify the nuclear disarmament movement.
turn on num lock. you need to have a full keyboard for this. hold the alt key and press 0179. release the alt key. the numbers at the top of the keyboard do not work for these special numbers. you need the numbers at the right of the regular keyboard for this to work. :D
