The time period he lived many of the things we consider problems were just part of life. Columbus was a mean greedy man. When he landed in the Bahamas he cut off a Native American hand became he didn’t bring him enough gold. He wrote in his diary that the Native Americans he met would make good slaves. On his second voyage he returned with 17 ships filled will colonists and planned to set up colonies. He took 1200 Native Americans as slaves and sent 500 back to Spain.
Christopher faced the obstacle of not having enough money!
He went to Portugal to get support. Luckily, he got support from Ferdinand and Isabella , the king and queen of Spain. With the money he could survive the journey with plenty of food, water ship etc.
Columbus convinced the rulers of Spain that he could reach Asia in 35 days (which was the maximum possible time at sea in those days) - contrary to the opinions of the rulers' advisors, who believed, correctly, that it would take much longer. When Columbus reached the Bahamas after about 35 days, he was convinced that he was right and that he had found Asia.

because one of the men didnt understand the size of the world
One of Christopher Columbus's main problems he didn't understand the size of the world and went the wrong way. He went west to go east. He was also a very greedy, mean man. He cheated his own sailors out of the promised reward for spotting land. He stated he saw a light the night before and therefore he was the first to spot land and kept the reward. He cut off the hands of the natives he found because they didn't bring him enough gold. Finally, he did NOT discover America. He found Hispaniola and thought it was India until the day he died.
He faced getting thrown in jail after his second journey cause King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella were ungrateful even though he had found so many islands. He also faced the challenge that his crew members wanted to kill him because they wanted to head back to Spain but, Christopher Columbus didn't want to go back and turn around and offered a award for the first person who spotted land.

Yes, the trip was very dangerous - the crew faced storms, calm seas (a major problem when you rely on the wind to move you forward), disease, short rations and almost mutiny.
On problem Christopher Columbus faced was sickness. He faced harsh weather, as well as violent people who did not know who he was or what he was about.

1.Not enough room for the sailors 2.Not enough food 3.The live stocks.........
In addition to the fact that Columbus was sailing into the unknown with highly inaccurate maps, he also faced a multitude of trials. Problems included poor weather, unsanitary and cramped conditions aboard ship, crew deaths, scarcity of supplies, even a ship grounding.
