∙ 13y agoWhen Christopher Columbus was sailing due for India, he ended up in North America. He referred to the Natives as "In Dios" meaning walk in God's way, because he was amazing at their great faith.
Someone was hired to translate Columbus' diary. They incorrectly translated and so a myth began that Columbus thought he was in India and called the people there Indians.
