The U.S. entered the WWI because of many reasons. First, the Germans blew a British ship called Lusitania and killed 128 Americans. Second, they claimed that the ship was sailing in a "war zone" of the ocean. Third, they claimed that the U.S. was transporting armaments for Britain through Lusitania, an accusation that later proved true. Fourth, Germany sent the Zimmermann Note to Mexico, in which they asked Mexico to keep U.S. busy with more conflicts in the South and keep them from entering the war; in return, Germany told Mexico that they will reclaim Mexico's lost lands from America (which was a total lie). President Wilson was very angry at German and those four reasons violated American neutrality. On April 4, 1917, the Senate declared war against the Central Power and joined Allied Powers. Within that, United States entered World War One.
