Britain: ww1 made the Gov. introduce Dora,which gave the Gov. far reaching powers over people's lives. Rationing was introduced in 1918 because German U boats were blowing up merchant sips with food supplies to Britain. The nation's health was actually improved. Food prices increased but wages remained the same, so there were strikes. Women took over the men's jobs and recruited to the armed forces - nurses/cooks. Eventually they got the vote in 1918 (women over 30 allowewd to vote). And in 1928 women over 21 were allowed to vote. Hope it helps; Zola.
