This will be an insane job to do, if your doing it in your home garage or driveway. First you must have a Cherry-Picker to begin with. Unless you have another vechicle your using and this is a hobby of some-sort, don't do it!

It takes about thirty minutes and a Phillips head screwdriver. They run on the drivers side radiator to under the car. Cost per line is approx. $28

How do you drain the coolant resivor on an 84 Chevy surburban?

Cock screw on the inner bottom of the radiator. Should be on the passenger side, but may be on the drivers side. Be careful when you losen this screw, very touchy. Once you get it to screw in, coolant will drain. Make sure to close carefully. Then add only some water {not a hole hell of alot, just enough to come up above the Cock screw, to make sure that it has sealed. If so add your coolant and the rest of the water. Or follow the directions on your coolant container. You may want to flush your system out before adding coolant, if so do this before closing Cock screw, that up to you. But it is a good idea, seeings your that much into the job at this time. There you have it. Something else that you may want to do, to save you money on tranny repairs. Is to add a trans. radiator/cooler. This way if your engine ever overheats, it will not damage your tranny. You see when your engine gets hot, so does your tranny fluid. Inside your tranny is a bunch of small membrain seals. Once they get hot, their shot. Which will cost you to have your tranny repaired with in afew months. An that's not cheap. Although you can get the tranny cooler for around $50. Beats $1200 to $3000 for tranny repairs. Hope this helps ya. LATER
