You'll need two pieces of wire... and im pretty sure that if you take one end of the wire and put it on the very bottom of the light bulb and the other end of the wire and put it on the positive side of the battery, and take the other wire and put it on the threads of the light bulb and the other end of the wire and put that end on the negative side of the battery, you should get light. (I may have the polarities [positive & negative] mixed up).

OK, lets assume you have a wire, you know where the + and the - are on the D cell and you have a bulb that is rated to run on 1.5v and you know where the two attachment points are to power that bulb.

Option 1, touch the + of the D cell to the wire, touch the other end of the wire to the threaded side of the bulb, touch the pin base of the bulb to the - of the D cell, bingo, it lights with one wire.

Option 2, the easy option, cut the wire in half and then use two wires as you probably should anyway:)

A series circuit means a sequentially connected circuit, as opposed to a parallel circuit.

To build a series circuit with a battery, a switch, and a light bulb, start with the battery... Connect one end of the battery to one end of the switch - connect the other end of the switch to one end of the bulb - connect the other end of the bulb to the other end of the battery

When you close the switch, the circuit is completed, current will flow through everything and, if the bulb and battery of of similar rating, the bulb will illuminate.

Is a lawnmower battery 12 or 6 volt?

Most typically lawn mower batteries are 12 volt but there are the occasional 6v versions out there. you canLook at the battery - somewhere on it, it should reference the voltageRefer to your manual to identify the type of battery if you don't have the battery in your possessionUse a look up such as this - www.batterystuff.com to find the correct battery for your mower. You can usually find a suitable replacement at your local Home Depot or Lowes hardware store.

A group of ten six and twelve volt batteries are wired in a series The Sum of their voltages is eighty-four volts How many of each type of battery are used?

A group of ten (10) batteries composed of 6 Volt and 12 Volt types will have six (6) each, 6 Volt and four (4) each 12 Volt batteries. The contributing voltages will be 6x6 and 12x4 for a total of 84 Volts.

How do you place charging leads to two 6 volt deep cycle batteries that are in series?

If the charger is a 12 volt DC machine, connect the leads to the two battery terminals that the load is taken from. Take care to note the polarity of the leads to the polarity of the battery terminals. There will be a short jumper cable between the two six volt batteries. The charger leads go on the opposite terminals of the two batteries that the jumper is connected to.

Does a 9 volt battery have more energy than a 1.5 volt battery?

A D cell battery has a voltage output of 1.5 volts, while a 9 volt battery produces about 9 volts. This is just the potential energy though. D cells provide far more current for a longer time then a 9 volt battery. In terms of overall power output, a D cell in give you many times more power than a 9 volt battery. Physical size, in this case is a good indicator as the material inside is the same.

Where does the white wire connect on a six volt battery?

You don't say what you are connecting to the battery. If you have a black and white wire the best guess would be white to negative terminal and black to positive terminal. If you were connecting a 6V light bulb it really doesn't matter.

How many cells does a 12 volt battery consist of?

A 12 volt automotive battery has six cells.

Why do they say six volt golf cart battery is better than 12 volt deep sycle marine battery for storage?

Buying a six volt battery is better than 12 volt. If you buy the 6 volt takes up less power so it holds more.

Can I turn a 9V battery output to 6V 100mA?

No! You need fewer cells for six volts. Most 9 volt batteries have six 1.5 volt cells, but a six volt battery has four 1.5 volt cells. In theory you could open the battery up and install a tap at the fourth cell, but that is pretty hard to do.

Can you start a two six volt battery tractor with one 12 volt battery?

It depends on how the two six volt batteries are connected. If they are in parallel then the answer is no. If they are connected in series then the answer is yes. To find out for sure check the voltage that the starter needs. If it says 12 VDC then you will know that the two six volt batteries are wires in series and can be replaced with a 12 VDC battery.

Where can one purchase a six volt battery?

Six volt batteries are available from websites like Battery Mart, Amazon, and eBay, or from retail stores like Kmart, Walmart, Home Depot, and Lowe's.

How do I connect a twelve volt car battery to two six volt batteries connected in a series?

connect the 2 six-volt batteries together one terminal each positive to negitive, this will make a 12-volt combination, then you can connect the jumper cables, one side to the 12-volt battery and one side to the two 6-volt terminals, + & -

How many cells are in a battery?

AnswerAccording to WikiPedia (http:/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rechargeable_battery), the nominal cell voltage of a Lead Acid wet-cell battery is 2.1 volts, this implies there are 6 cells in a 12 volt Lead Acid wet-cell battery.

How do you hook up a battery charger on a 1935 ford pickup?

The first thing you need to know is if the truck is still the original six volt system or not. The charger is still hooked pos to pos, neg to neg regardless of whether it is pos or neg ground. Do not use a twelve volt charger on a six volt battery.
