Take off Air cleaner assembly and in Park press gas pedal down hard and listen for loud popping sounds. If it is popping remove valve covers.Watch and see if all the rocker arms move up and down evenly. If not chances are cam and lifters are bad.
what kind of problems are you having to make you think it's a cam lobe? usally if a lobe is worn off it will back fire through the carb depending on how bad it is, if the cam is bad then it usally means you've spun a cam bearing in it because of no opil getting to that lobe it has worn off, but it also can be a bad lifter is bad but usally the tick alot before going out. call me if you want and tell me why you think it is, 636-575-0255, thanks harry
5.7L 350 Vortec engine.
That is a 350 engine.
That is a 350 engine.
If it has a 305/350 it will be on the front passenger side of the engine.
What is the engine in the Caprice? In the Suburban? If they are a 305/350 then they can be interchanged. I have a 1985 Caprice Classic with a 305 and the tranny came out of a 1987 Suburban. It depends on the engine.
It has 210 H.P.
25 to30 foot pounds
It will have two, one in each of the exhaust manifolds.
Chevy did not use an Inertia switch.......
if you call checker, schucks, kragen or murrays auto parts they can tell you exactly the factory gap.
on top of the engine, towards the front to the left of where the tube from the radiator goes in.
Yes it is the same engine. Both of them are TBI / Throttle body injection engines.
