CLEANSE SITE OVER PORT FOR 30 SECONDS WITH 3% CHLORHEXADINE SOLUTION. PRIME YOUR LINE, CAP AND NEEDLE USING STERILE NORMAL SALINE. USING AN APPROPIATE SIZE HUBER NEEDLE, ACCESS THE SITE WITH ONE HAND, WHILE STABILIZING THE SITE WITH THE OTHER(THEY WILL MOVE ABOUT). ONE IN THE PORT, PLACE AN ANTI MICROBIAL PATCH AROUND THE SITE. SECURE WITH OPSITE TRANSPARENT DRESSING. IF NOT INFUSING, FLUSH WITH HEPARIN PER THE INSTITUTION PROTOCOL.
