If the damaged area is small then a skrim or jointing tape can be used, if the damaged area is large then it must be cut back to the joists, replaced, jointing tape applied then skimmed.

Explain how to do Drywall Repair?

Drywall repair is not difficult, but it does require some special tools and techniques. The most important thing to remember when doing drywall repair is to take your time and be careful not to damage the surrounding area. To start, you will need to remove any loose or damaged drywall. Use a putty knife to scrape away any loose paint or plaster, then use a utility knife to score the damaged drywall. This will make it easier to remove the damaged section. Next, cut a piece of new drywall to fit the opening. Make sure to use a sharp knife so that the edges are clean and straight. Once the new drywall is in place, use drywall tape to cover the seams. Finally, apply a thin layer of joint compound over the entire repair. Use a putty knife to smooth out the compound, then let it dry. Once it is dry, sand the area smooth and paint over the repair. Paint Repair with Damaged Drywall?

Maybe the party got too rowdy this weekend or maybe Junior missed the punching bag when practicing his boxing techniques and now you are stuck with a hole in your wall and don’t know how to repair it. Small scale drywall and paint repair is easier - and less costly - than you may think! To perform small (less than 12 circumference) drywall and paint repairs, you will need spackling paste, sandpaper, a putty knife, a drywall patch, a paint brush or small roller, a quart of high performance primer such as Glidden Gripper and a quart of paint, which can be color matched at your local Home Depot or Lowe’s. 1.) Color match your paint by taking a piece of the damaged drywall (the larger the better) to your local Home Depot or Lowe’s. They can place the sample is a spectrometer, a color matching computer that determines how much pigment needs to go into a plain white base to make your exact color. You can usually purchase your custom color in a quart, which will minimize waste. 2.) While at the hardware store, pick up a drywall patch, which can often be found in the paint aisle, along with a small jar of spackling paste and any other supplies you may not have at home. 3.) Cut the drywall patch to size and smear the edges with spackling paste. Cover the hole with it and spackle over it. 4.) When the spackle dries completely, sand the edges so that it blends in with your existing drywall. If a second coat of spackle is needed, apply it now, sanding it when it dries. 5.) Using your paint brush or small roller, prime the spackled area. Allow 2-3 hours for the primer to completely dry. Apply a second coat if needed. 6.) Rinse your brush or roller. 7.) Apply your color matched paint over the damaged area using your brush or roller. When applying the paint, it may not look like it matches your existing paint. Keep in mind that colors darken as they dry. Allow your paint to completely dry, apply a second coat as needed. 8.) You’re done! Thank the stars that you were able to get away with repairing the damage instead of painting your entire room!

How do you drywall round corners?

The best way to drywall a curved or radius corner is to wet the drywall. If possible lay the drywall over a form that matches the radius to be covered. use a garden sprayer or watering can an wet the drywall. It will bend to match the form before your eyes. Let it dry out. It will stay in that shape and will easily be applied to the curve. Tighter radii may require using a thinner drywall like 1/4". Use the same method, but apply two layers if the rest of the job is 1/2" drywall

How do you stain over water damaged wood?

Try using oxalic acid, also called wood bleach, on the water damaged area before attempting to stain the wood. If that removes the stain, sand the surface, use a wood conditioner or a clear stain as a first coat, then apply the colored stain. Once that's dry, apply a clear polyurethane for interior use, or a spar varnish for exterior use.
