Checking the power steefing fluid on jettas is one of the easiest fluids that you can check. In the front left center of the engine after you lift the the hood, there should be a small colored cap with a slit in the top where you can insert a flathead screwdriver and screw it off. Much like changing your oil, wipe off the dipstick (which is much sorter than the oil dipstick) and check to see if the fluid reaches the pattern mark on the dipstick. If your car makes a whining/ moaniong noise, its your power sterering. Checking the power steefing fluid on jettas is one of the easiest fluids that you can check. I've also just found more about it at: http://www.germanautoparts.com/Volkswagen/Jetta/Steering Hope that helps!
