I heard a radio program on NPR one day about laundry, and the person said that detergent made specifically for cold water washes are really much better for cold washing, and that aside from really dirty clothes, most of your clothes can be washed in cold water, using that special cold water detergent. Most laundry detergents are designed to be used in warm to hot water, and don't properly break down or clean well in cold water. But the specially designed cold water detergent is formulated differently.
you need to use oxi clean or wash it in a washer machine.
Isn't cold water already cold? I would say cold water gets cold first. I've heard that hot water freezes faster than cold water.

Finding the right dispenser for your home or office is a decision that should be made with careful consideration. Water dispensers are equipment that people hope not to replace often. By making the right decision on your dispenser, you will find a long-lasting water supply that will also save you money. Water dispensers are available in several models and with many features designed to meet the needs of a household, office staff or public. Some dispensers have special devices that purify tap water, which can save you from buying bottled water. There are dispensers that produce hot water for beverages and soups, along with cold water for drinking. Some families may find this feature very convenient. It is a standard feature of water dispensers in offices and some public waiting areas. Water is essential to good health. Without it, a person will become dehydrated and medical problems will develop. Placing water dispensers in convenient locations will remind children and adults to have a glass of water, even if they are not feeling thirsty. This action can help to maintain the required level of water in their bodies. All over the world, people recognize the health benefits and the importance of having a convenient water source. There are many companies distributing water in bottles. Having a dispenser will allow purchasing in bulk and reduces the number of plastic bottles that end up in landfills. You will find several models of water dispensers. Floor-standing water dispensers are the main type used in offices and public areas, but some families find them more suitable for their needs. Most small households prefer countertop water dispensers, which are usually less expensive and take up less space. A cramped office may also find countertop water dispensers to be more helpful. Having water readily available can keep your family and workers happy and healthy. Less expensive devices that dispense water directly from the bottle with a pumping motion are handy for camping or other outdoor activities. Water dispensers with filters are a good way to ensure that your drinking water is safe for consumption.
Here is how to disinfect a sunbeam hot/cold water dispenser: 1. Google "cleaning a sunbeam water dispenser" 2. Find this site 3. See no answer Hmmmmm. I wish I knew because that's how I found this site. Looks like we are in the same boat. Bummer. UPDATE: I just got off the phone with Sunbeam on how to clean their water dispensers/coolers. I have a 3 way (hot, room temp, and cold) and needed to clean it. The woman from costumer service informed me that the company Elite Classics manufacture their water dispensers and she gave me the number directly to the factory (877-383-6399). I called the number and they were very helpful. To clean one of their water dispensers: 1. Unplug the water dispenser. 2. Completely drain the dispenser. 3. Pour in 4 cups of white vinegar. 4. Pour in 8 cups of hot tap water. 5. Leave mix in for 1 hour. 6. Drain 7. Pour in 12 cups of hot tap water or more and drain until the vinegar taste is not longer present. the instruction manual says you can use white vinegar or milk of magnesia. personally i like the milk of magnesia cause you can tell its all rinsed out as soon as the water is no longer cloudy. im not sure if all sunbeams are like this, but mine has a drain valve on the back. i make sure i run everything through all 3 nozzles and the drain valve to ensure everything inside is clean to the best of my knowledge. also i have used a mild bleach and water mixture and rinsed out with about 10 gallons of water. just have to make sure you run enough water through so no more chemicals are present. you can also get chlorine strips and test the water to make sure all the bleach is out. you can probably get a few strips free from a local restaurant that uses them. or maybe even a pool and spa supply store. they are not expensive. If it's filthy with dirt, such as one you've purchased used, then the following will be the steps to take before the vinegar/bleach treatment. 1. remove the dispenser seat that the bottle sits on. 2. remove the top of the cooler by taking out the two top screws, in the back, outer-most corners, and popping it off. 3. there is a large plastic ring that sits just under the dispenser ring. turn it counter-clockwise and pull it out. 4. beneath the plastic ring, there will be a flat disc, the same size as the fill cylinder. there is a rib, running across the middle. use this rib to unscrew the disc, and pull it out. 5. remove the next piece that is sitting in the bottom, to completely reveal the fill cylinder. remove the clear rubber gasket from the bottom. 6. clean all pieces, (I cleaned them and then sanitized them with boiling water) fill the cylinder with boiling water, and bleach or vinegar mixture. let sit for an hour. Drain, and rinse til completely clean. 7. reassemble the cooler in reverse order, and you're finished.

i don't think it naturally becomes clean until you heat it, catch the steam on a cold surface and then the condensed droplets are pure clean water
