If you look on the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) at the bottom of the windshield there will be a long string of numbers and letters. In that string a section of three will say "U53" "U54" "U55" U53-Mountaineer 4x2 U54-Mountaineer 4x4 U55-Mountaineer AWD hope this helps u out
AnswerIt would be all wheel drive not 4 wheel drive. the v-8 emblems on the fender and the tailgate say all wheel drive. Also look under the front of the vehicle at the inside brake rotor area if it's all wheel drive there will be an axle going into that area.Wiki User
