Hi, I know that you can open them manually if they are stuck closed, problem if driving at night. Just behind the grill, there is a mechanism to manually operate the doors. You can see it and get to it easily by crawling underneath. However, it sounds like you need a new motor for the doors. These are pretty easy to come by at a salvage yard or possibly on ebay. rtalk7
no it cant as, as long as the light isn't on
Check your relay. Take a test light to see if you have power going to the 86 pole when the headlight switch is turned off. If you do, your switch is stuck in the on position. If you don't, your relay is stuck closed.
I recommend using wooden doors but not on a gliding track. My doors got stuck and eventually broke. Wooden pull out doors are the best option for you.

I had the same problem and the only reaosn mine weren't opening because the the doors were getting stuck on the small piece of plastic underneath the doors so i broke it off on each side and now they turn on and off on each side. Hope that helps. SO just see if the doors could possible get caught on that piece of plastic.
My brinks locked in the open position. What do I need to do to get it fixed
The heating direction doors can be stuck into a certain position. The heating direction door might be closed, not allowing warm air to come to the drivers side.
You can not close any door if the locking mechanism is stuck in the locked position. You must first get the mechanics to unlock.
a little WD 40 should do the trick

Your switch could be stuck, or you might have a short to ground in your headlight circuit.
