I've had this trouble in a couple vehicles. It could be a misreading Mass Air Flow sensor; also called a MAF sensor. If the air-gas mixture isn't reading correctly, you can get a low idle, high idle, or a jumpy idle.
OR
It could be the throttle cable is too tight. It looks like a bicycle brake cable right next to the engine. There should be a screw with a spring around it that you can turn. If you adjust it while the car is running, you'll notice the idle will go up or down.
But I'm not a big expert, if you can narrow down when it happens, like all the time, when it's cold, or when it's warm. That will help with the diagnosis.
How do I adjust the idle on a 1994 Dodge Caravan?
There is no adjustment screw, idle is automatically controlled by the pcm.
There isn't one. The idle is computer controlled and is not adjustable.
Idle is computer controlled and is not adjustable. If the idle is incorrect, you have a computer, sensor, wiring problem.
Inside the passenger side tire...
P1294, target idle speed not reached.
Minimum of 10 psi at idle when the engine is warm.Minimum of 10 psi at idle when the engine is warm.
Could be the carburetor/idle speed out of adjustment, possibly a vacuum leak
This old? 20-60 psi at idle
From commands sent to it from the ECM, the ISC valve opens and closes allowing air into the system to maintain correct idle speed.
the idle is controled by the computer you can set minimum air flow but have to have a scan tool if it is idling to low clean the throttle body of carbon
your fuel pump can be broken or your fuel injectors...
